Authorities said Patrick was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over late Saturday that was driven by Georgia backup wide receiver Jayson Stanley, who was charged with speeding and possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana.

Georgia inside linebacker Natrez Patrick started in the Bulldogs' SEC championship game victory over Auburn on Saturday afternoon, but he reportedly spent part of Saturday night and Sunday morning in jail on a misdemeanor charge.

Stanley, a junior wide receiver, is used primarily as a special teams player and has recorded three tackles this year.

Stanley was charged with DUI drugs, possession of marijuana of less than an ounce and speeding.

School officials have yet to comment. He paid a "small fine" and was released from custody, the station reported.

Patrick was arrested just last month on the same charge, but this is his third arrest total. According to 11Live News, Patrick is facing marijuana possession charges.

He was arrested back in November 2015 with teammate Chauncey Rivers, who was eventually dismissed from the team, by Athens-Clarke County Police for marijuana possession on campus.

The October arrest led to a four-game suspension as specified in Georgia's student athlete handbook. He had three tackles in the game.
