Arby's rolling out popular venison sandwich nationwide this fall

Arby's to release venison sandwiches nationwide, test elk sandwiches

21, Arby's is bringing back a one-day-only offering of the insanely popular venison sandwich the chain sold past year at select stores.

The sandwich includes a thick slice of venison steak, crispy onions and a berry sauce on a toasted bun.

If you remember from last year, Arby's venison sandwiches sold out in minutes, and will likely sell out again quickly this year, Arby's Chief Marketing Officer Jim Taylor says. Beginning Oct. 21 the restaurant chain will offer a limited-edition venison sandwich.

Just like a year ago, the restaurant chain uses a New Zealand supplier that sells grass-fed free-range venison. Arby's claims the sandwich was so popular it sold out within hours.

There will be a limited supply at each Arby's location.

Author's note: As someone who grew up deer hunting and eating venison, I have a hard time believing rugged Pennsylvania outdoorsmen are craving Arby's when they think of their big-game delicacy. Arby's had a similar test market for its venison previous year. "It's a ideal example of the level of innovation coming from our teams and our commitment to creating experiences that guests can only get at Arby's".

Since the venison sandwich was such a success Arby's will be bringing the sandwich to all of its locations nationwide this year. When it was introduced in 2016, it was only available at restaurants in five states.

The venison burgers will be made with deer steak, juniper berry steak sauce and crispy onions on a star-top bun.
