Trump Is Confusing Everyone On Whether A Border Wall Will Happen

UC System urging 'dreamers' to renew permits and seek legal counsel

When President Donald Trump announced the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which protected 800,000 immigrants from being deported, I finally understood the words Michelle Obama once said.

In a series of statements to reporters on Thursday, the White House appeared to be debating itself over what the President would agree to on immigration reform, whether any deal hinged on funding for a wall along the US-Mexico border and what exactly constituted amnesty.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders quickly pushed back, tweeting: "While DACA and border security were both discussed, excluding the wall was certainly not agreed to". "He added: "'I think we're fairly close but we have to get massive border security".

While Trump remains committed to his campaign promise to build the wall along the USA border with Mexico, "whether or not that is specifically part of a DACA package or a different legislative package, I am not going to prejudge here today", Short said.

"I express some concerns about taking on the federal government's decisions unless they impact our community", District 2 Supervisor John M. Phillips said.

"I really feel for my clients and for the thousands of people affected across the country", says immigration attorney, Bethany Hoffman.

The House's foremost immigration hard-liner, GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa, addressed Trump over Twitter, writing that if the reports were true, "Trump base is blown up, destroyed, irreparable, and disillusioned beyond fix".

"Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military?"

"The president wasn't negotiating a deal last night", the Wisconsin Republican told reporters. This rest of the candidates were complete idiots, so of course, you had to 100 percent support Trump.

"As with everything else with Trump, one never knows from moment to moment where he is going to be", said U.S. Rep.

But after there was immediate backlash - including a headline on the conservative news site, Breitbart, "Amnesty Don", Trump said Thursday he was not backing off on the proposed wall.

A prominent Trump supporter in Pennsylvania, US representative Lou Barletta, an immigration hard-liner who cheered the president's Muslim travel ban and repeal of Daca, declined to criticize Trump on the issue on Thursday.

"We're not interested in not resolving that issue - we want a clear legislative solution so we don't have to be kicking the can down the road", Sanchez said.

In later comments in Fort Myers, Florida, where he was viewing disaster response efforts, Trump emphasized that an agreement on DACA would only allow the young immigrants, who were often brought into the country as small children by their families, to stay in the US.

Hundreds are anticipated to gather September 13 at Veterans Park in downtown Painesville to protest President Donald Trump's September 5 announcement rescinding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

A Perdue spokeswoman said any DACA deal should include a proposal he is co-sponsoring with Arkansas Republican Sen.

House Republicans would normally rebel over such an approach, which many view as amnesty for lawbreakers.
