Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane not fined for ejection at Green Bay

Green Bay Packers' Mike Daniels causes Seattle Seahawks' Russell Wilson to fumble during the second half of an NFL football game Sunday Sept. 10 2017 in Green Bay Wis. The Packers recovered the ball

Kind of ironic, Packers closed the Georgia Dome and now open the new stadium. He made that very clear before Green Bay's Week 1 win over Seattle.

"You always want to go out before warm-ups and catch some balls in warm-up and check out the lights, the atmosphere, how it's going to look", Nelson said. "But we like it".

This will be the third time the two teams meet in the last 11 months. Can they do it against a top-12 one in Atlanta?

"Mike got off to a great start with us and then a couple of little things kept him away for some time", Carroll said. "You can't rewrite history. We've just got to be ready for anything".

Add second-year backup Jason Spriggs (hamstring) being ruled out Friday and veteran backup Don Barclay starting the season on injured reserve, and you can understand why the Packers aren't entirely sure how they'll approach the tackle position if disaster strikes and, say, Bakhtiari can't play or starts the game, reinjures his hamstring and can't finish.

They'll have to send Jones deep and see how many Packers to with him. "That's nothing new for us, but not enjoyable, either".

Ahmad Brooks was signed to the active roster only a short time ago, but his absence for this coming Sunday will be a bigger issue than most realize. "When you can extend plays, that makes it hard because now the coverage definitely turns in".

The ejection received criticism from many, including Fox analyst and former National Football League head of officiating Mike Pereira, who said the replays never showed Lane drawing a punch toward Adams. Both games in Atlanta last season ended with Rodgers leading the team in passing yards. and rushing yards. and touchdowns. and return yards. Minnesota might just have the best defense in the NFL. In the NFC championship game, Jones had nine catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

Following Green Bay's horrid performance in the 44-21 demolition, they are looking for redemption. Those pass-catching abilities out of the backfield will be a major asset in this week's game against the Falcons.

This will be the second NFC heavyweight showdown in a row for Green Bay, after a 17-9 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. Montgomery showed he can handle a full workload after taking 90 percent of the offensive snaps.

Q: How are the Packers doing after that big win over Seattle? .

Falcons takeaways: Atlanta spends a lot of time focusing on takeaways with its young, speedy defense, so coach Dan Quinn was a bit surprised when the Falcons failed to recover a fumble or intercept a pass against the Bears.

Family affair: First cousins Clay and Jake Matthews figure to see plenty of each other in this one. That came after he'd had only three catches for 29 yards in the teams' regular-season meeting in October in which Jones was double-covered on every play, Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan said. That being said, Green Bay's secondary is much healthier now than it was when Atlanta QB Matt Ryan torched it for 392 yards in last season's NFC Championship Game.

While working out bugs in the complex system, which resembles a camera aperture, the roof remained closed for seven games over its first 3 weeks, including a couple of Falcons preseason contests.
