Philippe Coutinho departure to Barcelona could destroy Liverpool's season, says Sunday Supplement

Jurgen Klopp

Jürgen Klopp has made it clear that any decision about Philippe Coutinho leaving Liverpool is out of his hands, with the manager claiming his "bosses" have the final say on any players going in or out of the club.

"I had to sell a lot of players in my managerial career". The Catalan giants are said to view the 25-year-old Coutinho as a replacement for Neymar who recently joined PSG in a World record deal.

Shattering the hopes of Barcelona, a statement on Liverpool's website echoed, "The club's definitive stance is that no offers for Coutinho will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes".

'I can say something that is maybe more important, ' said Klopp, when asked about the midfielder's transfer request yesterday.

"Then I came back again and the team did very well so it was hard to go into the team, but now is, I think, different".

"If they don't sell him, then I am not involved any more".

Hayward said: "The trouble is the magnetism that Real Madrid and Barcelona still exert; people just assume that when these two clubs call on you, that's it, sooner or later this player will leave".

It is claimed that the Liverpool players fully understand that Coutinho can not say no to Barcelona and sympathise with him wanting to move to the Camp Nou. That is what I was always doing. "I had to prepare for a match".

Suarez went on to produce a phenomenal run of form, scoring 31 goals in 33 games as the Reds went closer than ever to sealing the Premier League title, before joining Barcelona in 2014.

"I don't think (it changes anything)". I didn't see the club today - those people.

"We had our moments, then we conceded an offside goal", he said. It'll be a busy one, as Liverpool has earned a Champions League bid for the first time in his tenure.

"We came here to win and I think that would have been deserved".

"You have to ask the club". After a decent start which saw the Hornets in the top half of the table for much of the first part of last season, Watford descended into the relegation-watch zone, finishing the campaign with five straight losses.
