The Governor of Guam, the U.S. territory threatened with attack by North Korea, has backed Donald Trump's fiery rhetoric toward the nuclear-armed nation, saying that a President who whole-heartedly embraces forceful retaliation over attacks on United States territory is "what I want". "And I will tell you this North Korea better get their act together or they're going to be in trouble like few nations ever have been in trouble in this world". "And they should be very nervous", Trump said.

Asked about the country, Trump told reporters: "They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen".

Because of North Korea, the USA will increase its military budget by "many billions" of dollars, including expenditures on missile defense, Trump said on Thursday.

North Korea responded by saying it is considering a preemptive missile strike against Guam, a USA island territory in the Pacific that is home to an Air Force base, Navy submarines armed with nuclear weapons and other military forces.

Donald Trump has said his "fire and fury" warning to North Korea maybe was not tough enough.

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis says the Trump administration is working with its allies on a diplomatic solution to escalating tensions with North Korea.

On May 14 this year, North Korea test-fired a Hwasong-12, the reclusive country's new surface-to-surface liquid-fuel IRBM with a range of 5,000 kilometers.

Trump also responded to a USA Today report that said he has had contact with Mueller since the investigation started, signalling his cooperation, but that "no notes" were being passed. Trump's threats, Gorka said, were deadly serious.

"No, I never said that", Gorka said in response to the anchor saying there was audio of his BBC interview. "Kim Jong-un keeps doing this and making us worry", she said.

Both nations' representatives on the United Nations Security Council voted last week to impose new sanctions on North Korea in an effort to force the nation to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

Hours later on Tuesday, North Korea said it was considering firing missiles at USA military forces in Guam. "But if China helps us, I feel a lot differently toward trade, a lot differently toward trade", he said.

He went on to say that he disagreed with Obama's statement that global warming is the greatest threat, adding that he would like to "de-nuke the world", and see other countries get rid of their nuclear weapons.

Trump is issuing a new warning over the North's development of nuclear weapons.

"Look, we have trade with China".

The United States operates two radar systems in Japan and one in Korea, which along with satellite surveillance would pick up any North Korean launch quickly, Karako said, and would transmit that data to Guam which also houses the advanced radar.

He asks, "How often do you see France, China, Russia, the US voting unanimously on any issue?" It's not going to continue like that.

"We'll always consider negotiations", the president added.

Guam lies about 2,100 miles (3,400 kilometers) from the Korean Peninsula, and it's extremely unlikely Kim's government would risk annihilation with a pre-emptive attack on USA citizens.

The general in charge of the North Korean missile force said "sound dialogue is not possible" with President Trump and "only absolute force can work on him". That statement said US bombers from Guam "openly stage actual war drills and muscle-flexing in a bid to strike the strategic bases of the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea]".
