Uber is losing another executive.

Uber's head of global operations is the latest executive to step down at the troubled ride-hailing company.

In a letter to employees, Graves said "I'll be embracing another big change on my journey with Uber and will transition out of a full-time operating role to focus on my role as a Board Director". "It remains all about people, and it's clear to me the stability of our board of directors, the selection of our new CEO, and the empowerment of our management team is what is needed most".

Graves replied on Twitter with his e-mail address and became Uber's first employee.

Graves will not be going to another company, according to sources familiar with the matter. Graves steps down from the executive team as the company is still searching for a chief executive, after former CEO Travis Kalanick stepped down. Mr. Graves was briefly Uber's chief executive in its early days before handing the reins to Mr. He announced his departure in an email sent to the company.

The company has been rocked by a number of controversies this year, including allegations that Uber's leadership was indifferent to sexual harassment complaints filed by female employees. As the SVP of global operations, Graves has focused on initiatives like Uber's food delivery service, UberEats.

"So, why now? Well, there is no great time for a move like this one", Graves wrote in the email, according to Recode.
