Emmanuel Macron Confirms Third French Victim In London Terror Attack

Police had been searching for Xavier Thomas, a French man who had been missing since three assailants plowed a vehicle into crowds on the London Bridge and attacked people in Borough Hall with knives on Saturday.

He was investigated in 2015 but he was "prioritised in the lower echelons of our investigative work" and there was no evidence of "attack planning", police said.

Rachid Redouane: Redouane, who had claimed to be Moroccan and Libyan, gave his age as 30 or 25 and also used Elkhdar as a surname.

"Inquiries are ongoing to confirm the identity of their accomplice".

Fears are growing for a missing French national caught up in the London Bridge terror attack after witnesses said he may have been thrown into the River Thames.

Butt, 27, a British citizen who was born in Pakistan, featured in a controversial Channel 4 documentary past year called The Jihadi Next Door, and was known to the intelligence service.

The Met Police late Tuesday morning named Youssef Zaghba as the third attacker.

Forty-eight people were hospitalized in the attack and several officers were injured, according to police. A third, aged 33, was arrested at an address in Waltham Forest.

London Bridge terrorist Khuram Butt quoted the Quran in his final message before carrying out the deadly attack.

The suspect, identified as a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of "commission, preparation or instigation of terrorist acts", the Metropolitan Police said in a statement early Wednesday. Police also arrested two 20-year-old men in Manchester in connection with last month's suicide bombing that killed 22 children and adults attending a concert by singer Ariana Grande. Police did not elaborate on how she was killed. May defended her government's stance on the issue, saying that her Conservative government had protected police budgets. The campaign roared back into public view Monday after a one-day hiatus, with Prime Minister Theresa May and Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn trading blame over one another's security stances.
