ISIS Claims Responsiblity for London Terrorist Attack

In March, a British convert to Islam ran down people with a vehicle on Westminster Bridge, killing four before fatally stabbing a police officer on Parliament's grounds.

Residents reported hearing "loud flash bangs and gunshots" in the early hours of Monday morning.

Deadly attacks by Islamist militants in Paris, Nice, Brussels, Berlin, Manchester and London over recent years have shocked Europeans already anxious over security challenges from mass immigration and pockets of domestic Islamist radicalism.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack through its propaganda wing Amaq News Agency, the SITE intelligence group said Sunday.

Police said they had seized a huge amount of forensic material in two early morning raids in east London Monday, as part of their efforts to determine if the three men who carried out Saturday's attack were part of a wider network. On Monday, Met Police said 10 of them were still being held.

No details have been released about the perpetrators, who were shot dead within minutes by police.

"We were all stuck!" said Marcia Rainford, a 58-year-old who said she was sealed into her building complex with her mother and two children.

Saturday's terrorist attack at the London Bridge killed Chrissy Archibald as she was plowed down by a white van.

"Just like terrorists are constantly evolving and finding new ways to disrupt us, harm us, attack us, the police and experts and all of us are finding new ways to keep us safe", Khan said in a Sunday statement.

"She had room in her heart for everyone and believed strongly that every person was to be valued and respected".

Her family in Castlegar, British Columbia, says Archibald "would have had no understanding of the callous cruelty that caused her death". He was a trainee customer services assistant with London Underground for less than six months, before leaving in October, a Transport for London spokesperson said.

"We're a major trauma centre and London has a trauma system so we're used to seeing people who are badly injured but to receive 12 patients who are all non-medically shocked".

Darwin electrician Andrew Morrison was the second Australian to be injured when the attackers charged the busy South London area. "This was an attack on London and the United Kingdom, but it was also an attack on the free world", she said in an interview with BBC.

Two suspects were also detained in East Ham.

The BTP officer, who was on duty, was one of the first at the scene after he responded to calls for help from the public and suffered serious injuries, which the force said are not thought to be life-threatening.

Mr Bateman said the bangs that followed were not as loud but sounded "the equivalent" of gunshots.

A police van is parked in the middle of the road and the street of terraced houses is cordoned off at both ends.

"She lived this belief working in a shelter for the homeless until she moved to Europe to be with her fiancé. It was a rampage really", he said, adding that he heard a shout of, "This is for Allah".

May said she has protected police budgets and increased the number of armed officers and matched Corbyn's finger-pointing with some of her own, saying her opponent wasn't fit to safeguard Britain at a time of heightened threat. "She passed in his arms", Mark said. The statement reads: "Please honour her by making your community a better place".

He said he managed to get near one attacker and "hit him around the head" with a bread basket. She also said that funding for counter-terrorism efforts had been protected.
