Microsoft to pay users if they search with Bing

Microsoft introduces Rewards in UK to increase Bing hits

If you want to exchange your points directly for some gifts, an Xbox Live Gold Membership, for example, will cost you around 6,000 points, while a 1-month Groove Music Pass costs a staggering 9,500. The scheme also rewards users with additional points if they make use of the Microsoft Edge web browser or use the Bing app to search on mobile, as well as occasionally introducing quizzes or games that can be used to earn bonus points.

Created to erode Google's near monopoly in search the incentives initiative is being rolled out in the United Kingdom today following a successful launch in the USA a year ago and is being marketed as a "rewards program" for adopting Microsoft's services.

To sign up for the scheme, you just need to register on the Microsoft Rewards page. The points are redeemable for shopping trips in its online store. Well, look no further because now you can get rewarded for the products you use nevery day, with Microsoft Rewards, which now nearly live in the United England!

Microsoft Rewards uses a level system to further encourage participation. "The search limit resets every day, so you can start earning again tomorrow". If you earn at least 500 points per month - i.e.by using Bing a lot - you can jump to level 2 which increases this to 150 points per day.

He said: "The points can be redeemed for a number of Microsoft offerings. These might include free movies and music, or entry into larger prize sweepstakes".

And the Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition for Xbox One on the Microsoft Store is now selling for £79.99.

Microsoft Rewards works similarly in the USA and UK.

Recent statistics have shown how much of a stranglehold Google has on the search market.

Google corners a hefty 77.98 per cent of the global search engine market and doesn't look like it's going anywhere soon.
